I've not seen this before, but I tried a couple of weeks ago with a custom humbucker builder on my website, and it received a huge amount of positive attention, so now this concept has been extended to Strat/Tele/P90s too.
EDIT: all changed to simplified single listings with new software (all credit goes to Olafgarten)
These are aimed towards the people who are well informed and know exactly what they're after, but can't find it anywhere. My new pickup builders should fit the bill, speeding up the process without the requirement of manually contacting, explaining requirements, and having back and forth communication. All for a lower price than many off the shelf pickups.
(Disclaimer - I'm still happy to talk custom builds with those who would prefer it)
I anticipate that this is going to be very popular with people who want vintage recreations, with the large number of customers coming to me with the typical story of 'my friends got this really good pickup, these are the specs, can you make it for me?'
Here's how the process goes - there's multiple listings in each pickup type tab in my custom shop, each of which deals with one or two different specs of the pickup (here's the humbucker listings for instance)
You pick your desired options from each listing. Simple as that. I'm looking forward to seeing what crazy creations come out of these.

However all these options should be drop-down boxes on a SINGLE shop item.
All options in one listing is not possible on this platform, sadly, or that would be how I'd do it.
I do think there's benefits of breaking it up though - avoiding a wall of text to explain all the various options and a lesser level of option overload.
You can use this plugin to get unlimited options.

Where's the wisdomx100 button?
I used this plugin a couple of years ago when helping my friend set up a shop for his electronics kits, he needed around 5 or 6 options for each item. It's strange how Shopify doesn't have this built in.
It does seem to have quite a few bugs though that need a bit of ironing out.
