There's a couple of other music shops on Narborough road (Intasound and Keysound, who only sell keyboards), but they're a decent walk from the central shopping area, and not terribly exciting when you get there.
As city centres go, it's pretty unspectacular.
Bradgate park is lovely, but it's not really *in* Leicester.
Don't talk politics and don't throw stones. Your royal highnesses.
Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!
They had a branch of Carlsboro music , IIRC, if you go back about thirty years.
The inner one isn't exactly a pleasurable drive on a scenic route through an area of outstanding natural beauty, but it's not Coventry.
With you on the Indian restaurants though.

I have an odd fondness for the Coventry ring road - it's completely inadequate for the job which does at least mean if you miss your turning the next chance isn't that far off.
I often go on the Stourbridge ring road which is like a mini Coventry one. Presumably the designers of these things went ' this town is now the perfect size. It doesn't need to ever get any bigger or smaller. It is just the right level of town.' Like the Amish of road systems.
I have been to Leicester a few times but my over riding memories are looking at gig lists [ weird, posted this mid sentence so I'm now editing] from the back pages of Sounds as every mid league heavy rock band seemed to play Leicester DeMontfort Hall. If you liked UFO, Krokus or Rose Tattoo then Leicester was the place to be in the early 80s.
