I would use a 1Meg tone pot instead, it's so close to no load at full up it makes no real difference.

no click but, I have to say, no-load 10 sounds pretty damn close to 250k 10
And you don't experience the amp click mentioned by ICBM on the tone control?
Interesting. The bypass switch I previously had in the guitar made a difference compared to the sound of the 250k tone pot on 10, the bypass sound being that bit brighter. Useful at times but often just a little too bright. In the guitar’s conversion from Esquire to Tele I thought the bypass setting might be useful in the pickup mix (middle) position but maybe it’s not worth the trouble. Thanks for your comments.
