I'd seriously look at a squire ss jag, which is the best of both worlds and easy to play. New for about £180.

The real money is always in the lenses. That Leica lens is an extreme example but those huge lenses you see the press guys at football matches using cost £1000’s too. I’ve got a decent but not top end camera and four or five lenses but I’m probably something like £10k in the hole through chasing and upgrading my gear
