I did see that Mark from Normans Rare Guitars had posted a get well soon message but didn't hear anything else so thought it wasn't serious....sounds like it might be though??

Hadn't heard about this, but ditto read it was bronchitis and shows postponed to September.  The wheel chair may be just a precaution to avoid exertion from walking where breathing may be a bit more difficult for him but I do hope its not indicative of anything more serious - like many here I grew up listening to and learning Clapton licks and I think he's a terrific player and performer.  I'm sure we all wish him well.
I started out with nothing..... but I've still got most of it left (Seasick Steve)

Not heard this, his birthday this last week as well I think.
Don't think I'll be gigging in my 70s.

Bad case of bronchitis, which explains the wheelchair.  Surprised they let him fly with it.

The wheelchair pictures looked a bit grim - though he seemed to be smiling in some of them. 72 - even after many years of sobriety - is quite an age for someone who abused himself for so many years.

    Hopefully he'll recover quickly.
