Comp behind chorus...use an eq pedal to dial in the sweet spot

MXR stereo chorus is a bit pricier than some options (and you have to use the provided 18v PSU or equivalent voodoo labs etc) but it has a bass filter switch to keep clarity on the low end, and 2 band EQ as well as usual set of controls so you can go as subtle or daft/cheesy as you like.
