Boss FV500H or FV50H?

Which of these is better? Is it just a case of plastic vs metal?

All I know is I got the wrong model (i.e. the V model) which has the wrong pot in it so my calibration on goes from 0-25 rather than 0-100 on my Gsystem

I've got both...the metal one is heavier and the metal hinge attachment on one side is broken ie metal broke off. So naturally I prefer the still working lighter plastic one. Mr ICBM said there is a subtle difference in them I forget what it was...but I've not noticed it.
