My grandad wasn't a fan, for some reason.  Whenever Jim Bowen was on, there were two things he'd shout at the telly.  Either "smashin' - dip yer bread in yer gravy" or "super, dip yer soldiers in yer egg". 

Back to the OP, I read the link last night and IIRC, a long distance shot was an alternative to a missile strike in the area.

Half the people here are probably tax avoiders. If there's a method of avoiding paying tax that isn't too complicated people will often take it.
