Looking to buy a Japanese Tokai.. still in June 2023

I would probably prefer a plain top, but not really against flamed tops

Would prefer the open book headstock rather than the UK dimple

Keep an eye on Ishibashi's Ubox site. There's not much in the way of Tokai LPs on there at the mo, but they're constantly shifting stock.

They're a great retailer to buy from, I found the whole procedure to be very straight forward. 
You pay the price shown i.e. no local tax, then add about £120 delivery then add VAT + Duty.
I can't remember the exact numbers but my base price for the LS160 I bought was about £570 and with all the delivery and taxes it eventually came to around £830.  A used LS150 sold on ebay at the time for £850.

The Japanese LS150/160s are pretty hard to find in the UK.
@sunshinewelly used to have a nice example that if i recall, he sourced from South Africa.
He sold it eventually, but posted up some nice piccies:

Brill thanks @equalsql, so VAT + Duty would be what about 20% + 3.5% of the sale price?

I got mine from a south African tokai dealer. It worked out a lot cheaper than the ones being offered on UK sites. It was a seriously nice guitar and one of those guitars I regret selling .

I am very surprised by that .......an LS160 has a UK retail of about £1450 .
