Digital recorder advice needed please !!

Hello! I think it need a new digital recorder but I need some advice . Basically I want to be able to record band practices , and also record demo ideas at home for guitar parts etc, wether plugged in direct or through an amp. I want to be able to do it quickly and easily! I'd also lime to transfer files to my computer , and maybe import files people send me to the recorder to work on. Being able to record proper band demos would be a bonus , but by no means essential, I currently have a korg d4 ( and before that a tascam porta one!) and it's good for that , but I'd like something more compact , easier to use and I just think its time to upgrade , although it's served me well !! Can anyone offer me any advice ??!!
