    The width of 42mm is self-evident from the packaging. What are the other dimensions, please?

    For my purposes, the critical measurement is the drop from the underside of the "shelf" to the bottom face of the nut where it will contact the headstock face.
    You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

    Hope this helps @Funkfingers ;

    The overhang/lip is 2mm

    Just in case this is useful

    Urrghh, I must have measured the width of the overhang, not the height of it.

    I blame being distracted by my three year old :) - I'll take another look tomorrow.

    This is now academic.

    I am working on a neck with a droopy Jackson/Charvel style headstock. I have decided to employ locking machineheads rather than a string clamp device. Consequently, the nut string slots need to be cut at a bunch of different angles to guide each string to its respective tuner. I have decided to make something the old-fashioned way from a blank.

    Apologies to PVO_Dave.
