Probably a safer bet than my original Chesney Hawkes back catalog idea.
He did everything in 21 years of recording.
Never got a proper chance (which for a metalhead is a sacrilege).
Would need to be someone with an extensive output to alleviate the repetition. So choosing the band called We've Got a Fuzzbox and We're Gonna Use It!! isn't going be much fun after the first day, despite their couple of albums.
I'd like to have said Zappa, but I discovered his music years ago. Mind you, I could say the same about Morricone's music.
But of all the bands/artists I have heard, I'd stick with Zappa - over 100 albums. And yes there's plenty of duplication, but a truly extensive selection of studio and live, and probably the greatest variety of styles from any single artist ever.
Eric Clapton
or
BB King
or Joni Mitchell
