He would have been 75 today and in his short lived career as a rock musician he changed guitar based music and probably single handedly saved the Strat from extinction. 

IMO the greatest guitarist/songwriter ever.

A young boy/man (IDK, like 20) came first, gave me his card and invited me to record in a studio in Wallington...
Then my neighbour came home, and asked me to turn up the guitar saying it wasn't loud enough (I swear to God) and then he invited me (he's a musician) to perform with him for charity in Croydon this Christmas in the shopping centre here/The Whitgift Centre...

I mean, not bad for day 1, right?

Yeah he was something else...  One can only imagine what may have been...  If you have never heard it this is an amazing interview with him.. Was the last he did not long before he died and he talks about what he had in mind for the future.. Such a shame

My band kicked off a four-day Hendrix Weekend in Folkestone on Thursday night in celebration of his birthday. The club was heaving (including a few of Noel Redding's family). There's still a lot of love for the man out there.
