Does this guitar exist?

I am gassing pretty hard for a blonde/butterscotch tele with a black pickguard and neck humbucker - do they exist in the wild? I have a budget of around £750. Some tasteful ageing would be nice too.

If not, is a well specced partscaster the way to go?

why not go with a regular black guard Tele reissue and convert - plenty of options of a new humbucker pick guard, so you can keep the original, then 'cover up' the larger hole at  a late date if required - something like a clean used Baja Tele will work - buy used and acquire additional parts and hot rod as required

I know it is available as a C/Shop with a serious price tag, but can't recall seeing one within the Fender range, other than a 70's style Tele Custom which is not what you are asking about - I assume you want it to look like 'Keefs' Micawber

That is kind of what I was thinking to begin with but I don't really like the necks on the Baja series. I'd also like to try and avoid a thick poly finish, specifically on the neck as I can't play laquered fingerboards - my fingers get stuck!

Yes, a Keef vibe is what I am basing it on!

what about a used Roadworn 50's Tele - urethane neck, but you could cut back further if required for a played in vibe - still 7.25" radius but slightly bigger frets

Go with a bitsa option and you might get 9.5" radius + larger frets and more of what you need - but can cost quite a bit putting it altogether so maybe a used bitsa might be a better option and convert to humbucker if required

My friend has a Blonde Mexican Tele from the 90s which has just that set up and colour scheme - with 5 way switch and TBX - worth a bit of googling

You can look for a used G&L ASAT Classic Bluesboy. There are around 1.7k new but don't hold their value very well, so you might find one for 750.

There was recently a vintage spec Jap model with neck humbucker - shiny and new though, not reliced at all. If you want the reliced approach then I think @guitars4you hit the nail on the head with his suggestion to mod a Mexican Roadworn Tele. Not sure what the discontinued US Hotrod Tele with neck mini humbuckers sell for secondhand, but they are excellent guitars as well.

In similar vein, the second run of Fender Old Growth Red Wood Telecaster had a humbucker in the neck/Rhythm position as standard. 9.5" radius fingerboard, medium jumbo fret wire.

Probably. The closer that you can get to a C.S. '51 Nocaster spec, the better.

It used to. Might be easier to grab a Baja tele, used humbucker and replacement scratchplate and send it to a tech.

Should be easy enough get a blonde one and a pickup and new guard for £750

That doesn't look like a real Fender. The truss rod hole's wrong and the string ferrules look dodgy.
