For crying out loud I had one of those 20 years ago, traded it in for £100 against a second hand G&L tribute telecaster.  I thought I had a great deal because I only paid £125 for it brand new.  I feel quite the fool now I can tell you!

There was an argument on my local FB seller group after someone asked £1000 for a "Genuine Fender Strat". 
It was a Squier Affinity, but because it said "Squier by Fender" on the headstock it MUST be a Fender & therefore worth it! The comments were great, until the mods shut it down.

b)The seller doesn't know anything about guitars and thinks its something special.
c)it's stolen 
d) mental illness/drug addiction 
e) wind up
f) Gibson employee who works in their pricing team

I think you're all being very unfair. The guitar is approximately twenty years old - it could have been played by Queen Victoria or something!

Paul Burrell took it from Di's bedroom.  (She'd used it to spank her lovers' bottoms. I read it on the Web at the time so it must be true.)

I think he's probably miss placed the decimal point out in his price, either that or he's  added one too many zeroes!

In answer to your question "Is it silly season?", the answer has to be "Yes" - Christmas is just arund the corner after all...

He genuinely cannot think that guitar is worth more than a tenth of the price can he? It has to be an elaborate joke or something

I don't think I'm wrong in saying that if (in the unlikely event) it sells, the eBay fees will be more than the true value of the guitar!
