Having trouble posting images here?  This might help.

Welcome! Sounds like you are on the right track gear wise. The best bit of advice around these parts is to get some lessons and check out the likes of JustinGuitar on Youtube for online lessons and learn-to-play stuff.

Rock on Bob, you'll be at home here mate, if you have a guitar and want to ask a question, tell us something or send some pics then that's all good and most welcome. We can be a sarcastic bunch, we love a good pun and many have a devilish sense of humour but it's all good fun.

YouTube is also your friend when you want to learn something about theory, technique tone or gear. If there's a song you like, someone somewhere will have made a video on how to play it on guitar and get the tone, some are great, some are truly atrocious but end up being funny!

    Welcome.

  • Welcome dude and good on you for picking up something new. As you've fronted bands already I'd say you're in a good starting position as you'll already have a certain amount of musicianship and a good ear from having to work with band mates already so I'm guessing with your other instrument experience you probably won't need to go over the basics of rhythm, timing and melody too much which is all the more interesting for you. I personally find electric much more rewarding than acoustic but of course tastes vary. Get playing, start developing your style(s) and keep us updated with how it's going. An Epi LP plus Blackstar should give you a good solid base to get going with this. Good on you sir
Please note my communication is not very good, so please be patient with me

    Welcome.
Don't worry that as a bassist you have no musical experience.
Proper guitar will change all that.
