Funny you should mention this - I recently tried an amp out in a shop which only sells secondhand guitars and the only Strat he has in stock was a Mexican one.

It’s only a tiny place (the wonderful Amp Guitars in Macclesfield - well worth a visit btw) but they typically would have had at least half a dozen in.

    What is going on?

Probably can't go into HarrySeven's gaff without tripping over most of them...
I play guitar because I enjoy it rather than because I’m any good at it

  • Is it because the value of the am standard has plummeted due to the release of the pro?

A problem is that a lot of "Fender"s are rebadged Squiers or other brands; finding a genuine one can be a bit risky.

(I saw one yesterday which was described as "upgraded", by the addition of a waterslide decal!)

Go and see Graham at Guitar Classics Battersea London - he's got a good handful of them and at decent prices too.

I suppose it depends what price range you are looking at - and indeed from what era

I only have 1 used C/Shop today and very little below 1K - But I see plenty for sale on FB and at various guitar shows in some guise or another
