THis really grabbed my attention

So, this is a one (or accurately 3) off, I believe.

It's known as the 'Cancelled Block Prototype'. Not my bag, but it's from May 1966, an experiment from Fender for their June sales conference to tempt the reps and dealers, it's legit, and to a Fender collector, that's a cheap price- it's a very unique piece, even though it's bloody hideous.

The Target Burst is spot on for the era. I am not sure, but it may be the only one, but rumours are there were 3 made.

All the necks made for these were subsequently used on Jazzmasters, which is why a lot of 66 Jazzmasters have 13 coded necks.

And agreed, B&B necks don't suit Strats

In fairness, to someone like Pym or Winterflood, that's a decent price for a unique piece

I think its because we are not used to seeing them, they look "wrong"..........to me anyway, I'm too much of a traditionalist......

Oddly enough, I think the binding and blocks look OK but the transition logo on the big headstock spoils it for me.

With a Black Pickguard that would look great.

Don't like any Fenders with binding and blocks.
Not too keen on the big headstock either.
I shan't be buying it.

I agree it would be better in a custom colour w/headstock, but I really don't "get" block inlays on Fenders.

I kinda like it but at 15k I would get the neck made then stick it on one of my strats see if I could live with it whilst spending the change on a holiday
