Bit much - getting another one just so you have one for the times when the original one is being set up.

I mean who has that many Les Paul's.

    Oh.
Had a similar thought today. So if you want to buy a spare I’ll have some for sale soon ;)

I'm off guitars mate - getting rid so I can get a few more basses and amps..

I think I'm just as mad as you with Precisions...

Aiming to get under 10. Which is still a silly amount. But I’m just playing a small core, so the rest just live in cases...

But glad to hear you are still GASing...

  • I definitely miss playing, I would never put it as far as missing a specific guitar though, I’ve always thought of them as  tools. The physical process of sitting down and playing though...without that I definitely get quite agitated and grouchy. I guess that’s addiction to guitars.

I never take any instruments when we go on holiday for a week. I'm never sad but I get itchy to play something by about midweek.

as silly as it sounds I am in a strange mood since I took my les paul for a set up not this past Saturday but the one before. I want it back but had to wait for a particular part. on the positive note my other guitars are getting lots of action.

same when I go on holidays I miss them.

Either you need a girlfriend or more guitars

I'm a bit similar when I go to the US for a month or so.

I'm definitely  going to look out for MIM classic '50s when I get out there that I can play there and bring home with me afterwards.

I get in a mood a lot because I barely have time to play. When people say 'make time to play', it's annoying because currently I'm very busy at work, socially busy, my family lives 2.5 hours away (so lot's of time used to visit) and I'm currently trying to stay fit.
Yep I do to, I get annoyed and moan that I don't have time, then sometimes when I do have time at the weekend I am not in the mood to play.

This is the reason I have having a new dishwasher delivered this weekend, I am trying to remove as many time wasting activities as I can.

as has already been advised. Get yourself a girlfriend.

Used to leave mine out on stands but if i walked past the room and the door was ajar then i would feel guilty and eventually give in. Pop in for a minute or two. Bit like saying im having a pint and downing 10. The room was like a glue pot i couldnt get out of there. Guitars are in their cases now and the wife and kids are happy. Thats the main thing....

We recently redecorated the music room (my wife insists on calling it our bedroom) so all but one of my guitars, and my only decent amp went into storage. Glad to have them back at last. Yes I did miss my favourite guitar and amp.
Can't sing, can't dance, can handle a guitar a little.

I used to be like that .
I would take an Acoustic guitar when attending a week long work training course.

Now I would see a short break - or even a longer break from playing - as arguably a good thing.
Older. Not sure about wiser but I hope so.

  • i've been out of the country for over a year on one occasion and i missed my main like mad. i bought a very cheap MIJ to get me by while i was there, but it felt like wearing someone else's shoes. made writing tricky as i felt i was not quite me, on some instinctive level. curious experience.
i am the hired assassin... the specialist. i introduce myself to you... i'm a sadist.
