Any love for these on the FB? Been eyeing a couple up on evilbay and Reverb. Good, bad, indifferent?

I have no clue what it is. You should stick a pic up, we can at least comment on the looks then

They look good, and most likely are. Never played one though..
so if you fancy a reissue of a guitar they never made in a colour they never used then it probably isn't too overpriced.

@HarrySeven can probably answer your questions. There is also the very faintest possibility that he could sell you one.
You say, atom bomb. I say, tin of corned beef.

Exactly, they were basically Les Paul copies, made for the Japanese market from the mid 70s to the mid 80s.  Originally called Studio Lords, later changed to Lord Players.

I've no idea what the differences in specs were between different models, or how "good" they are, but I guess they're comparable with Grecos, Burnys and Tokais from the same period (Orvilles came along later).

I've had two of them, they were different specs, one was a 2 or 3 piece body with a maple cap, the other was solid. One had a volute, the other didn't. Both were really good LP copies, typical Yamaha really.

  • @HarrySeven can probably answer your questions.

There is also the distantly-remote, highly-unlikely, not-really-going-to-happen, vague and unrealistic possibility that he could sell you one.

    FIFY ;)

I've got one somewhere. Cracking guitar.

  • I had one for a brief spell a few years back. liked it although was pretty heavy as les Paul tend to be anyway. Took it to a Luthier for a set up and a to sort a few bits on it and he was really impressed, the pickups were a bit bland as mij stuff can be but aside from that was really nice.
