I bet that P90 can get absolutely stinking tones.

  • I went to see a friend of a friend's blues band years ago and their guitarist had one. I didn't really know what it was at the time but I thought it was great for the Chicago blues stuff they were doing.
    Genuinely lovely guitar.

Unlike any P90 I've heard mate, it's so warm and sustains forever!

This is why old Epiphones are good. And where Jack White got all his ideas from.

(doesn't actually start til 1.15 or so)

Intonation is surprising pretty good for a vintage guitar with a wraparound
Your bridge looks like a replacement. The "lightning bolt" ridge on a 1965 original should have compensation for a wound G.

I made precisely the same change on my 1965 Melody Maker.

I've also got a 1965 Melody Maker.  It came with a Badass bridge, which I replaced with an adjustable Pigtail, but I have a new/relic lightning bar bridge (plain G) which I shall put on it... at some point.

Yeah I’ve not had any luck tracking down the original, judging by the wear this one has been on a long time though. Not too fussed about it personally, it intonates really well.Stuckfast said:

Funnily enough one of the first things I did was put it through a big muff and play icky thump!

Don't bother, unless you plan on using a wound 3rd.    its a good upgrade for most players as it is

It can't have been on it that long, they simply didn't exist a decade or so ago.   its likely its been aged to match
