I have a small stone chip on the bonnet of my car which, if left untreated, would get down to the bare metal. I would like to avoid having to respray the entire bonnet.

Anyone used the Chipex Stone Chips Touch-up Paint System to cover up stone chips on their car?

My concern is whether the solutions used would affect the clear coat and paint of the area surrounding the stone-chip.

Watch the Chipex video here:- https://www.chipex.co.uk/touch-up-paint/ford/

Save your money and just buy the correct touch up stick from a decent motor factors (and that does not include Halfrauds...)
Forget using the the supplied blobby applicator and get hold of a small artists paintbrush... I use a ‘2mm Flat’ (you can give the brush a ‘haircut’ to make it slightly more pointy if you wish). Degrease the area and touch up the chip.

Yes, I have some for the Lotus. No better than a normal touch-up paint stick thing.

Agree............none of them are great.........I bought the "Hearing -Aid Beige " for the Allegro and the Velour cleaner for the upholstery where the cat had an accident.............still looks like a Paedo's car

  • I have used it on a metallic finish car. It worked well on larger chips but wasn't any use on small chips as the post-application rubbing down phase tended to remove the new paint.
