This is a good point, it's not like cats are one of the most agile animals in the world is it.

likewise at my place but at least it would be on a shelf above the basin (the brush, not the cat). however I discovered at my last place that flies would sit on my toothbrush so in this present house I'm pleased to have a bathroom cupboard with a door on it.

Reason number 1450639 why cats are dicks. 

Wander all over the work surfaces and windows in the house thinking they own the place. 

Be more dog. They can be just as gross, but are less likely (if trained properly) to jump up onto a shelf to lick a fucking toothbrush.

I think an old toothbrush left at lower level, with the cat's favourite paste on it, is in order.

(Actually cat toothbrushes will probably be the next marketing craze now...)
