When I was a kid I was made to believe that technology would save us all time and we'd have loads more leisure hours.
Little did I know that their idea of leisure was spending frustrating hours  trying to get answers on the internet and call centres.

Older readers may remember Rediffusion and, for that matter, half day closing. According to the proprietor of the local branch, their complaints department was open on Thursday afternoons and all day Sunday.
