Vantablack S-VIS can be applied to a wide range of material types. The only major requirement is that the surface or substrate material must be able to withstand temperatures from 100°C to 280°C - The actual temperature depends on the substrate and end use.
I wonder if 100C is too hot for applying on wood.

I'd try to apply it to a covering material which could then be glued or otherwise fastened onto the guitar body. Then I'd put the covering on an SG such that Zaphod Beeblebrox would say "That is really bad for the eyes ..."
"Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)
Seriously: If you value it, take/fetch it yourself

Presumably it would play itself before crashing into the nearest sun

No (it's the temperature of boiling water) but at 280C wood will char or ignite.

It's something you wear around your arm. You don't put it on your fackin' turntable!

  • That's right, Dougal. You see, ordinary shops sell what look like black guitars, but if you look closely, you'll see that they're very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.

Never buy black guitars from a normal shop, they shaft you every time.

Check out my band Coral Snake if you like original hard rock!

That's true. I thought my Uncle Tommy had a black guitar, but when I looked at it closely, it was just very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very dark blue.

Obsidian darkness, as Mr. Sting would say.

I just searched for the video clip of that gag. According to the YouTube caption, Channel 4 has blocked access to it in my country. Feck! Arse! Drink!
