    Recording vocals dry isn't necessary but it is generally the safest option .... purely because you can make a dry vocal wetter but print a wet vocal to track and there's no undoing it. Some reflections also seem inoffensive enough at first but can be more annoying once compressed and stacked up

    One of the most surreal vocal recordings I did at 2020 was working with a well known software company. We had an actress come in and we had to record her running, jumping, panting and dying in all kinds of ways. As the game the audio was for was set in all kinds of locations like castles, rivers and forests I had to record everything bone dry  .... to the point we built another vocal booth that was so dead it was unnerving when you first used it
