If you were given a choice of going back in time to a period before your birth, however long ago, or going forward in time to an unknown point in the future, which would you choose, and if you chose the past, when, and why ?

The rules are;
Staying put in the current time is not allowed, neither is changing location (though you can obviously travel once you are in the specified time period).  You are unable to use your knowledge of today to benefit yourself in the new time period either, so no ‘inventing electricity and becoming rich’ etc.  ....and you can never come back.

Step into the vehicle.....

    Either way I'd be without my wife and kids so it would be poorer than today.

    summat like the black death or mebbe the witch trials that swept the country, lots of lynch mobs around back then, I'd make out like a bandit.

    I wish (have said so before) that I was a teen in the late 50s and “in my prime” in late 60s and early 70s

  • Well I wouldn't go to an unspecified point in the future, because there might not be oxygen, or it might be after the sun has consumed the earth.

    I am thinking late 60s, catch a bit of Hendrix, watch heavy metal being invented, prog, punk, etc. Maybe visit my hometown and see if my dad was the double-hard bastard he claims to have been!
    I'm just a Maserati in a world of Kias.

  • If I couldn’t move far maybe the late 13th century as I’d be in the grounds of an abbey ( bit of the ruins below) so I could have a look around that. Just beyond was a thriving market town so I could go get some bread to go with my scrumped apples.

  • To the late 1600s - mid 1700s, for the music.

    Or back to the year dot, to knock the apple out of Eve's hand.
    "Working" software has only unobserved bugs. (Parroty Error: Pieces of Nine! Pieces of Nine!)

    I’d go forward 1 second and save myself the cost of a delay pedal.
    Roland said: Scales are primarily a tool for categorising knowledge, not a rule for what can or cannot be played.
    Supportact said: [my style is] probably more an accumulation of limitations and bad habits than a 'style'.

    3018 what the hell.
    Reckon my ISA might actually have earned some meaningful interest by then too!

    Obviously no potential negatives. Ahem.
