There was a thread on FB quite some time ago where someone recommended the best silicone sealant for anti mould properties, that horrible black stuff caused by condensation. I remember that it was Dow Cornings but can't remember the number. Anyone?

I would forget Silicone and go for Tec7 which I believe resists black mold and has a ten year guarantee. You can also seal on wet surfaces with it.

Unibond. They do an anti-mould range with a 35 year guarantee. Beats the Dow Corning stuff hands down.

They are all remarkably mould resistant if you wipe them over with diluted bleach once a week

Thanks all might try the unibond stuff.

i just soak paper towel in undiluted bleach, cover mouldy silicone and leave over night. remove and all mould is  completely gone.

I use this one too. I have old timber single glazed windows and the house is old and in a forest so we get a lot of moisture. I run a bead of this on the window bars against the glass and it does stop that black build up.
