Friedman pink taco, pub gig volume?

What's Hot

Hello I'm interested in the Friedman pink taco but have some questions for any owner's on the forum. I'm after that hot rodded Marshall/early van Halen type tone so I'm happy with the basic sounds in the amp but I'm worried about whether it's loud enough for most pubs? I gigged for year's with a Dr z maz jnr(18w) and never found it lacking for volume. I use the volume knob on my guitar to clean up the amp so don't need a lot of headroom. Has anyone had both of these amps and how do they compare? If the Friedman is in the same ballpark volume wise I'll be happy. Thanks in advance llew.

it really depends how loud your drummer is, i loved the PT20 at home but at band volume it lacked the punch of a 50w or 100w amp. Having said that we were REALLY loud, so if you play at a more reasonable level it might be fine. They sound ace though.
The only way to find out for sure is to order one online, try it with the band and return it if it's not loud enough.

Wow. You certainly won't read a worse name for an amp today.

Unless you Google the rest of their range.

I've no idea who Friedman is, but in my imagination he's a bit like Eric Cartman.

    Cartman's slimmer.
One day I'm going to make a guitar out of butter to experience just how well it actually plays.

    Easily loud enough.........no problem
Whether it is loud enough if you want edge of break-up tone is another matter

I've gigged mine lots of times, VERY loud and certainly enough for a pub gig. If you need louder you should be Micing up.
