    I stayed in the Sport Hotel many years ago, next to the Olympic Stadium.  Don't remember it being that expensive.

    And watch out for naked people in the English Garden or on the beaches if the Isar.
    When going to a swimming pool there are often "mixed" family shower facilities

    Not to mention German sauna culture: mixed and naked. You get thrown out for wearing clothes. It's a total leveler and makes you realise how few truly beautiful people there are in the world/how our perception of beauty has been distorted by the media.

    Anyway, you can sample that for yourselves here, just to the north of the city:

    While the Pamphlets go crazy in the other part of the complex on the biggest waterslides in Europe:

    There's a better photostream than the official site here: https://www.wiegand-maelzer.com/de/projekte/indoor/galaxy-erding/#&gid=1&pid=1

    As I said above, I'd already written a lot in @RaymondLin’s older thread:

    I still love living where other people come on holiday! :)

    @donner Servus aus Schwabing! :)

    The nippers?!  It'll be my wife who'll be most excited about the water park!

    Prepare yourself for stories in Die Welt about a sharp-elbowed English woman throwing children down stairways to get to the front of the queue a bit quicker...
    Not much of the gear, even less idea.

    But the Germans are expert at queue jumping. They call themselves the elbow society.

    We had an Austrian ski instructor once - he called it “active queueing”, his mantra was “don’t let ‘em beat you, join ‘em”, I know it goes against our British ways but it’s amazing how it works!

    BTW Munich is a great city, been there a few times absolutely love it. As well as the BMW Museum, it’s worth taking a trip to BMW Welt - totally unlike any car showroom you’ve ever visited before!
    We are all Chameleons...
