Catalinbread - quality issues recently?

I read some posts a while back regarding problems at Catalinbread since the sad death of Nicholas Harris. 

Are the pedals still of a good quality, and if not, when did the dip occur?

I'm looking out for a Talisman but don't want to pay top dollar for a recent one if it's not so good.

A couple of really good friends used to work at Catalinbread. Since Nic's family have taken over recently, there's been a lot of grim stuff going on behind the scenes. I should imagine that any Talismans (Talismen?) will date from pre-monkey business, but I'd avoid buying any newer product from them.

I also think the days of Cbread doing new and exciting designs are long gone, sadly.
