SOLD: Hamer Sunburst Custom 1979
Hi all,
This is my rare and 100% original Hamer 1979 Sunburst Custom, with bound neck and crown inlays. It's had no repairs and comes with original Dimarzio pickups, Hamer hard case and even original guitar strap. This is the most desirable version of this fantastic guitar and is becoming such a classic.
This is my rare and 100% original Hamer 1979 Sunburst Custom, with bound neck and crown inlays. It's had no repairs and comes with original Dimarzio pickups, Hamer hard case and even original guitar strap. This is the most desirable version of this fantastic guitar and is becoming such a classic.
As you can see from the photos, it has an insane flamed maple top with lovely binding around the sides and neck. There aren't many versions around with the crown inlays and neck binding, let alone in this great condition. It also has the original frets which are nice and level... they are quite low, but they always were with this model. The neck is beautiful, rosewood with a 60s style profile, so not too slim not too thick.
There are a few chips to the nitro lacquer as you would expect from a guitar from 1979, but its in remarkable condition and has had no repairs.

I have a '79 Sunburst - not as nice as that one mind you - and it sounds fantastic.
Put it another way, Martin Barre got one and immediately sold his late 50s Les Paul... yes, that good.

Sorry, but this guitar sold a long time ago to a chap in Germany - they seem to love them over there. It's funny as back then it got a lot of positive comments and no takers for a while. Now I'm getting lots of DMs due to this bumped thread!
Anyway, sorry about that, good luck in your hunt for a Hamer!
