I put the code in at the point of purchase (in the voucher box) and it gave me the discount. It even had it written underneath the "buy it now" button on the listing.

It is only certain categories - unfortunatelt doesn't seem to include musical instruments.  Might have a look after work.

Keep trying - I've added a few things to my basket from Music INstruments, sometimes the code works, sometimes it doesn't.
