Storing pedal boxes.

What's Hot

I've got loads and loads of pedal boxes, I try to keep them all in case I ever want to sell a pedal as to give someone the whole "thing" is always better for them, plus it's nice to try to keep the full set together. They are taking up a lot of space in my loft (you wouldn't believe how much). I'm currently having my shed turned into a proper building, but this will take over half a year, maybe longer, so is there a better way to store these pedals in general, or is there a way to put them in air tight boxes in the shed that would stop damp and the like ?

any wise words ?

    Can you flatpack them?

Keep the pedals in the boxes. Halves the space requirement.

very few of them, only really a few boss style ones, but even they have the harder cardboard section that would be quite annoying to pull apart

not so great in practice, I can hold pedals in a reasonable small set of draws in terms of pedal:space ration, start putting big boxes in there and it will half it easy, hence why I keep the boxes in the loft out of the way.

Why not put them in the box room?

I have airtight plastic cases I bought in B&Q for about £5 each years ago. They store about 50 Boss pedals and all my spare cables and are stackable.

Remember, it's easier to criticise than create!

Make a ceiling out of them, or a feature wall.

This sort of thing is what I was thinking, one of those vacume bags to seal it as best possible, then air tight box (as much as possible) and put in the shed, nice and stacked, just wasn't convinced it would work and they would get wrecked in the shed.

Sell them without the pedal so people who bought an unboxed one can gain the full experience....

I'm not sure there is a market for that though ;)

The 'Really Useful' boxes are good.

Problem with any of this type of thing bought cheaply at a discount is when you want more you can never get the same thing again,  so they never stack properly.

    Buy an established brand...

I always break them down so that they pack flat.

How about tying them to helium balloons and floating them above your house, then when you need one shoot it with a pellet gun and down it drops.

Oh no wait they might get wet if there is low clouds : )

A wall of pedals like on That Pedal Show is what I'm aiming for.  I want them to be there, available to be played with if I ever free up the time I want to spend.

Every box goes to recycling.  I don't care what it is.  It's the price I'm willing to pay for the free space.
