The same way as you do on an acoustic with a 14th-fret neck joint, or an Epiphone Casino with it at the 16th - thumb behind and fingers round the front. Even I can do that, and I have small hands. This has it at the 16th, and there doesn't look like there's a heel behind either, unlike an acoustic or a Casino.

The issue for me on an acoustic is barre chords above the 11th fret, not reaching over the body.

Surely the the body could be a bit smaller to allow access to at least a couple more frets, unless it's for balance or something.
