I think by far the most important attribute that women like in blokes is confidence.
Unfortunately it's not something you can go out and buy at Sainsburys.
confidence is a byproduct of courage. just like having big muscles is a byproduct of weight-training. you can exercise your 'courage muscle' anywhere you find women, and there are plenty of women in sainsburys.
Yes, on the tills and busy looking at the shyte you’ve just plonked in front of them .....  ;)
    I prefer the self-checkouts.

I think I shall have to find somewhere else to exercise my "courage muscles".  But I fear they may have withered away altogether after 54 years of disuse.

Move to the US, English accent gets you very far indeed, based on friends who have actually done this.
Which English accent is the most appealing to americans though? Are they into scousers, geordies, brummies, or cockneys?
    No.

Fortunately (or unfortunately) I’ve been put the game for nearly 20 years but I was thinking about this the other night - what would I do!

I think online dating is just an additional stream but not essential. It probably wouldn’t be for me...

As far as I can tell, people still go to pubs and clubs. People still meet at work and sports/hobby clubs and through mutual acquaintances.

I’ve heard of singles clubs as well - not necessarily the best place to meet a potential partner but the days and nights out get you socialising in different places with different people.

If all else fails buy a Thai bride.

I did know someone who went the Thai bride route. He seems very happy with the arrangement, don’t know how she feels about it although she seemed okay* when I met her briefly.
He has taken early retirement and they spend the winter months in Thailand, the rest of the year in his house in West Bromwich.

    * no obvious visual signs of his brutality.

I don't mean brash confidence, like 'Look at me aren't you lucky I'm chatting you up.' but just...confidence. Hard to put into words but I know what I mean...

Being sure of yourself and your part in the world I suppose is as close as i can get.
This is absurd.  You don’t know what you’re talking about.  It warrants combat.

Someone I know gets far more skirt than he can handle by going to dance classes  . He had 5 on the go at once, all ignorant of the others. He's steadied up a but now and just the one but he still keeps his little black book.

The thing is there is always a shortage of blokes so as long as you go determined to have a good time, you will.

That’s of not much use to those of us who don’t have an English accent.

Americans think anyone who speaks English but isn't American has an English accent.

Welsh, Scots, Australian, South African, it's all the same to them.  They might pick out Irish, but only if you talk like a cartoon leprechaun.

There's a reason why wimmin put themselves up on dating websites - they're either mingers or batshit crazy, sometimes both.
I've met plenty who are neither.

I've met a few who are though.

Kind of like in person really.

    I think it's a mentality..

Before i met/ started dating Mrs. L, I had a 1 pint opening for meeting ladies..

Once past the magic number I stopped actively trying and just wanted to have a good time (I used to be a very happy drunk) :)

My ex gf at the time was still a good friend and also my go to girl for anything woman related and usually the morning after we all went out I'd get a message along the lines of "you twat, so and so was really into you and you didn't notice/blew her off etc"

Apparently I got lots of attention, but spent many years being single..

After dating Mrs.L, I drank less but noticed things more :)

I was still getting attention, but this coming through not hitting on them. I was still fairly oblivious to it, and Mrs. L often had to point it out.

Once I went on a 'boys weekend' and when I was telling Mrs all about weekend, I was saying g about how I met a nuclear phycisist and that she was pretty interesting so we chatted for a while. Wife reaction.. 'She!?, Where did you meet her?' Met her at the bar, she bought me a drink. Then had the oohhhhh moment. Wifey starts laughing at me at this point. She knew me during the magic pint stage.

Point being, I was very rarely hitting on girls. I'd still talk to people at the bar and be friendly, but I never had it in my mind that 'this girl is hot and I would like to play with her boobies'

Like many have said, I guess it comes across as friendly and confident. So yeah, ramble over, take what you will.
