And it's scone as in cone in here in Bournemouth. I don't care either way.
I am overly qualified in this, as i'm originally from the Midlands therefore I pronounce everything wrong, i've lived in Surrey for 18 years so I can either go a bit LANDAN or pretend i'm trying to be posh, but still say Scone.
My parents now live in Devon, so therefore i'm a local.
And it's cream then jam - treat the cream like spreading butter on a sandwich.

This thread is like that bit at the end of WarGames where the computer realises it's impossible to win at Noughts and Crosses and gives up.
Scone, definitely to rhyme with 'gone'. Jam or cream either way, but easier to spread the clotted cream over the jam.
And strawberry only. Raspberry jam in a scone is an anathema to good taste.
With raisins/sultana's, otherwise you might as well pour flour in your mouth. And cheese? Well, cheese is for crackers. Or baked spuds. Or pasta.
More importantly, I was always impressed with Terry Pratchetts' name for the Dwarfen bread, 'Scone of Stone'.........
