Custom ibanez RG style bodies made in the UK?

There was a company that sold RG bodies in the UK but I can't remember their name. I suspect they're no longer in business, so does anyone know how I can get a replica RG550 body made for me?

Guitarbuild.co.uk used to offer RG bodies. They might make you one if you ask?

I think they were called area51.. although I remember looking at some more recently than that. I'll have a look.

I think I must have been mistaken - all I can find is Perle Guitars on Ebay and they're US based. I remember them doing weird JS/JEM/Voyager mixes so it must be them. Apologies.

@FelineGuitars Is this an expensive way of doing it? I've always fancied doing a project build but I do wonder what the costs would be. I prob best asking them rather than you i guess lol

Just sims really as far as I can see. I'm not sure if I priced it up wrong but it seemed really expensive, so I'm just modifying one of my existing RGs.

Sims isn’t “cheap” at all. I think they gave me a £400-600 (rough ball park) for refinishing my Strat 2 years ago. These are the guys building the £3500 Chapmans.

It says something like the body is £200, but then that doesn't appear to include any routing. So for example you want a forearm, tummy and floyd rose rout it's about another £100. Then to choose what kind of wood you want is £50? I'm not sure if I've read it completely wrong to be honest, but either way its out of my price range as you can pay less than that with a finish as well.

It's a shame because those Area51 bodies looked great. The only replacements I can find are US ones (Perle, Mojobodies etc.https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Unfinished-Alder-OSNJ-RG550-Jem-Guitar-Body-Fits-Ibanez-tm-RG-Necks/151890761117?hash=item235d65159d:g:jkMAAOSw6dNWT6Mc ).

Is there something special you had in mind which can't be fulfilled by buying a cheap RG body and refinishing it? Have seen the lower end RG's go really cheap, you could harvest the body and sell the rest on?
