New PC thoughts and advice sought

You don't know the half of it, mate. Unfortunately, she finds it hard to direct her talent. Three weeks ago, she managed to break her big toe in two places, standing still on the stairs. Last week, she had a double blowout driving home from work.

Well I spec'd a system like the PC Specialist or Scan system that is around 1800, on a self build. The parts came to around 2100. PC builder, I think was the site. Hmm. Even if I could get it down to saving a couple of hundred quid or so, I reckon that saving is not worth the lack of warranty or reassurance that comes with having it from a reputable manufacturer in terms of aftersales support etc. Can I really be arsed with the hassle?

I think this is the correct answer - a couple of friends have bought systems from Scan and have been very pleased with the support

I had a bit of an issue with my Scan build about six years after I bought it, and they were still very polite and helpful solving it. I'm not sure many of the original components were still in there.
