There is some great Mike Bloomfield isolated guitar playing taken from the Highway 61 Revisited sessions, which appeared on one of the Bootleg albums. He was one hell of a guitarist!

Got the vinyl version today. It's good, interesting. Makes it clear that his decision to re-record was the right decision - the released version is perfect, these are much simpler recordings. Some interesting lyric changes.

Slightly related, there's an excellent download on YouTube of the Infidels sessions, some feat. Knopfler. Look at the link provided in the first comment (by original uploader), it's a rar file of the sessions. Some cool alt versions.

My copy arrived earlier today, courtesy of amazon.

I didn’t open it straightaway, so the wife asks what it is and was I going to open it?

I think to myself - it’s a record of a marriage disintegrating, I don’t need to listen to the CD, I’ve got the live performance going on in my living room.*

Check out his solo album ' If you love these blues play them as you please', it really shows how talented the guy was.
