How to post a link to a post rather than a thread page???

Hi Admins...

Is there a way to post a link to specific posts rather than pages??

url/p8 will link to page 8 of a thread - can you link to say post 48 in a similar way?? If so how?

Right-click on the time of the comment and copy that link.

I realise it point to the post above, but testing that link it asks me to log in, when I already am.

That's because you're logged in on http://www.thefretboard.co.uk and the link is to http://thefretboard.co.uk - the way the software manages sessions keeps them separate (I keep meaning to put a redirect in there, and repeatedly forget).
