I was expecting the bloke from the 80s laundrette advert.
I would love to change my username, but I fully understand the T&C's (it was an old band nickname). So please feel free to call me Dave.

I thought Nick Kamen was the bloke who sold Hamer and Ovation to Fender...

    He apparently owns a 60s J-45...

I used to as well. Stupidly, I sold it some years ago so now I'm not the CEO of Gibson.

"Take these three items, some WD-40, a vise grip, and a roll of duct tape. Any man worth his salt can fix almost any problem with this stuff alone." - Walt Kowalski

So if one of next year's Les Pauls gets wet, will it shrink down to Junior size?

    Ok, first of all...

Other new appointments include Cesar Gueikian as CMO (chief merchant officer); Kim Mattoon as CFO (chief financial officer); and Christian Schmitz as CPO (chief production officer), all of which are effective from 1 November 2018.

CMO is Chief Marketing Officer, not merchant officer... Yes, this person will deal with the supply chain, however, the role includes many more responsibilities.

CPO is Chief Product Officer, not production...  Product is much broader term that includes new product development, for example.

Second, I don't understand why American upper managements believes so much in the bullshit Bingo and bulshitting in general:

“Gibson has been a pioneer of craftsmanship and innovation in musical instruments and has been synonymous with shaping the sounds of generations and genres for more than 100 years. I am very honoured to play a leading role with this iconic brand.

I wish somebody can just step in and say the truth: "Henry rebuilt the brand but then fucked it up with "innovation" and questionable quality. We will try to fix that somehow".

Used to be a guitar company there, now it's just private equity acrobatics.

Just what the world needs, another company full to the brim with short grab fiscal chancers.

I haven't bought a Gibson guitar since they sacked Ed Wilson...nothing here to convince me anything's changed.

    The boycott endures.

To quote, I think Aristotle ... "fook it "

I imagine that moving production overseas would dent the Epiphone side of things, and the guitar business is apparently doing well.  Hopefully they just ramp up the QC/consistency.  They could increase profitability by lowering the rate of returns.  Peach sent somewhere between 6 and 8 R8s back to be pulped due to blemishes
