    Just for reference, heres one I did this year. I actually didn’t want to hand this one back to the owner if I’m honest.

    A little wear through, scratches, chips etc help to keep it varied, random and believable/interesting.

    Reviving this as I picked up a sunburst version that had apparently been made in Vietnam ( wonder if they changed production ) and it was pretty shocking out of the box
    - neck was half screwed in
    - neck holes not drilled properly ( explains the above )
    - unpolished frets
    - several badly seated frets and a very low fret
    - overly corroded saddles - I hate the bent saddle type anyway so replaced with some more modern ones I had lying around.
    - very dry and roughly sanded fretboard

    I was in the mood for some fettling and sorted all the above, and improved the relicing a bit, and I have to say I now love the guitar.
    I would feel sorry for someone buying this expecting a playable instrument out of the box though.
