Cort are great value for what you get - i've got a few Corts, mainly X-series though. I have played a KX5 and found it really nice though. Nothing wrong with Motherbuckers, if i recall they are quite high output, but you  can get a good range from them. One of my favourite guitars is a lower range Cort (£250 ish new) with has Bluesbuckers, which i actually really like.. neck is comfortable and all round if it was another brand it would be priced much higher...

    TL:DR - Yes. Go Cort. :)

Parker PM10. Everything on the list (allowing for the singlecut option) and the stock pickups are very decent.

Well I thought that I had found a guitar that, spec wise at least, had everything I was looking for
    25.5" scale
    22 Jumbo frets
String through body with fixed bridge
    SD "JB" & "59" humbuckers
    Coil split
    Locking tuners
The Charvel Pro Mod San Dimas HT1 HH

Unfortunately it turns out that no dealers within a reasonable distance of me carry them as stock & it would need to be ordered in specially upon payment of a non refundable deposit.
Then when I decided to go ahead & get one ordered it turns out that they are now only available in natural Ash or White & I wanted a black one.
    Bugger !

You mean just as I recommended a couple of posts after you started the thread and posted the link to the Charvel page showing the available colours? ;-)

Sorry I completely forgot that you had suggested the San Dimas at the start of the thread.
