Wow appropriately added! Interesting comments about the sound, adds to my belief that Fender haven't got things quite right with their repro pickups.

    Fender deffo haven’t.

Sorry but im not a fan of any current Fender pickups - you can get much better and/or authentic sounding units from UK based winders.
Theres a reason Mojo pickups are permanently too busy to accept new orders for JM pickups.

  • Yeah it's the same for Jags - pre-CBS  vintage jags are actually quite dark and woody compared to say a Strat or Tele. Vintage reissue pickups are good but tend to be too bright.

Not the best recording as it was my phone. I really like the rhythm circuit too. Just a great range of tones.
Get some fuzz on the rhythm circuit. Sounds huge!

    This.

The AV65 Jag pickups are bright and wirey- too bright and wirey, imho. Compare them to a set of Mojos and it’s genuinely chalk and cheese - then compare the Mojos to an original guitar and it’s close.

Like I say, Fender seem to have lost the ability to make great pickups.
