Smart televisions?

I bought my latest telly (a 40" not smart LG) form Richer Sounds and the assistant tried to sell me a soundbar to go with it. However it sounds fine to me without it, so I would suggest trying the telly at home before buying anything! For 1200 squid I'd upgrade my studio monitors and re-purpose my current monitors....

presumably we were the first to even mention the £479.

The model we bought boasts something about better sound and it isn't bad at all. Might be nice to have the big sound for movies and stuff but I suspect we will live without it.

The picture on the Freeview HD channels is better than cable HD which surprised me, so next week going to cancel cable. I will then have to start looking for a recorder and learn how to live without FX and Sky Arts...
