Withdrawn: 97 USA Fender Strat - the ultimate modded hotrod - custom paint
Here is the coolest modded Strat I've ever seen!!!
Once upon a time (back in 1997) this started out as a standard USA Strat, but it has undergone an amazing transformation as follows:
- custom paint job - professionally applied airbrushed flame artwork over a metallic purple finish
- tuners upgraded to official Fender locking tuners
- original trem upgraded with tremel-no locking device (and blocked off for increased stability
- guitar routed from the rear to access the single volume control
- custom Warmoth scratchplate cut for single humbucker only
- Bare Knuckle Nailbomb humbucker
- neck sanded to give a smooth finish
The guitar comes in superb condition - the paintwork is excellent with only light blemished to the surface (a few minor indentations and fine scratches). The neck is showing some discolouration as expected on an unfinished surface - this could soon be treated to clean up, and there are some minor dings on the headstock.
The guitar comes with a proper red label Fender chainsaw case (which is showing signs of age and has had a couple of feet replaced).
This guitar plays really well - and has just been set up with new strings (including fret polish), and needless to say it sounds superb. The Nailbomb loves a bit of gain for rockier and metal tones, but also works really well on clean sounds and becomes quite versatile with sensitive use of the volume control.
All in all a great one off, that takes the quality basis of a USA Strat and takes it to the next level.
Price: £675 now £540 (collected from Nottingham or delivered at cost)

It's a brilliant guitar, proper Strat but just with more something...
Not everyone's cup of tea though, for some it might be an abomination....
Given the kind of prices these red label cases fetch that's got to be a great deal for someone?
Or, if anyone wants any bits from this give me a shout.
