AA - Amps Anonymous

My name is *** (hidden to remain anonymous) and I am a amp addict.

After being perfectly happy with my amp for years, I have gone bonkers and bought 5 amps, about 1 a week for the last 5 weeks!

Problem is there are still a few on the classifieds I have my eye one -> the money has run out,  fortunately.

I spent this Monday driving all over the north picking up amps. You're not alone. I came back with a 4x12, a 2x12, a 1x15, a 4x10 and two heads.

mine take up too much room, one of my twins keeps moving from room to room as I try to find somewhere to put it where it wont stub my toe. 

I am a big believer in you only need one amp. I play my best one all the time. The others dont get a look in apart from at rehearsal (LAney Head, and thats only cause its light)

I think two is a good amount - main and a spare. My laney lives at church as it's massive. It's needs a revalve and a new jack so while thats at home getting worked on the vht steps in

surely how much stuff you need depends on what you do with them. I have 5 amps, non really expensive but I justify them as follows;

laney vc 30 for my band gigs, powerful and versatile for all my gig needs,

orang micro terror hand, taken along as a spare in case vc30 dies, I can plug the speakers in, takes up no space.

laney cub12 used for small coffee shop gigs and jams, small and light enough for these.

peavey bandit, permanent fixture in bands rehearsal shed and used for open air gigs and open mic nights I run, happy to let anyone use and abuse it.

kustom little practise amp, used round the house, either headphones or not, can plug mp3 into it and play along.

id happily get more and I do GAS for more but as I cant justify further uses for stuff and im skint I just appreciate what I got.
