Yes, some idiots in America have gone and 'custom aged' the Silver Sky and it comes with an added $400 'we saw you coming tax' as well.

PMSL!

    Ridiculous, obviously.

The main issue with this guitar IMO is the 7.25 radius. I know some of us may prefer it but I suspect that’s a minority. Why design a strat update with that historical limitation?

    Just my opinion.

I think the point with the 7.25 radius was a preference of Mayers and Smiths, rather than designing an updated strat they were designing a guitar for Mayer to use on stage and in the studio to replace his Fender strats when the whole Fender relationship went sour. Its not for everybody.

    Much better imho...

Don;t like new shiny guitars, and love me relics. I'd buy one.

Doesn't the stark white plastics and ultra clean hardware look daft ?

I think that they are deliberately trying to be controversial.  It might even work and they’ll sell a few.

Aside from that I quite like it - I could see it being a popular option if PRS were to ever offer relic finishes on core models

A reliced guitar that's only been out for a couple of years?

It's got rusty springs though, for that extra-creaky aged sound.

  • "the only battered famous PRS I know of is... Casper"

Myles Kennedy has a black one that's getting nicely roadworn. Here's the best picture I can find, but if you watch the Live with the Parallax Orchestra vid on YouTube he plays it a lot in that show. It looks GREAT!

I've never liked the Silver Sky and will stick to my Fenders (and PRS DTG}, and that one is just pointless in my view.

    Have you actually played one?

Had I not known the radius before I played one, I wouldn’t have guessed 7.25”. It played ‘really’ well, with a low action.

I never said 7.25” radius guitars can’t play well. I have a AV52 tele after all. I just prefer flatter.
