Free improv / graphic scores / riffs / I find it hard to describe sorry

New album from a band I'm in called Sloth Racket is out on Monday, preview track on Bandcamp now. The bandleader Cath writes semi-graphic scores, with some melodies, riffs and ideas of structures and things, and then we collectively improvise our way through it all and it ends up sounding like this...!

I think I may have made that term up, or at least I'm not sure that's exactly how Cath describes the scores. Basically, there are some conventionally scored elements (riffs, melodies etc) and some graphic elements to be interpreted (lines, shapes, drawings etc.).

I had to leave after the 1st set as I had an early wake-up today. I enjoyed it a lot. How much of it is written? And why doesn't Martin let you solo? Haha

Thanks for the pic @carlos! Mind if I tweet it? Are you on there so I can credit you?

And the writing... some of it the structures are pretty set, and the riffs and melodies of course, but it's pretty open within that. My job is textural mostly, but I did get a couple of spots in the 2nd set on more freer tunes ;-)
